How to convert a PDF to grayscale
- Select the PDF.
- Choose all pages or selected pages.
- Compare the original and converted preview.
- Press Convert to Grayscale and download the PDF.
Key features
- Text and vector graphics are recoloured directly, so they stay sharp and selectable.
- Images are converted to gray pixels.
- Pages you don't select stay in colour.
Supported files and limits
- Pages using features that can't be recoloured exactly (such as some patterns, gradients or special inks) are rendered as an image of the page instead; their text is then no longer selectable.
- Protected PDFs are refused.
How your files are handled
PDF to Grayscale runs in your browser: your file is read and processed on your device and the result is created there, so documents aren't uploaded to a server. The site only counts anonymous page views, without cookies. How it works · Privacy
